Garden State Cake Show

Last February 6 I volunteered at the Garden State Cake Show held in Burlington, NJ. One of the organizers was Chef Vanessa Greeley. You might have seen her before on Food Network Challenge. She was really nice. I met her first at the Chocolate Show in NY where I also volunteered. Anyways, here are some pics at the cake show.

 I made these pies weeks ago and they turned out pretty good:) I'm not a pie eater but i really like this two.

Cancel

So I had to cancel my trail today. My youngest son woke up and wasn't feeling well....family first. For some reason he was throwing up so I got a bit concerned. I called the bakeshop and explained everything. The owner was really nice and willing to reschedule. But then yeah after that, my son was like back to normal like nothing happened. Maybe he just wanted me to stay home with him after all. Kids....

Trail

Woke up really early today. Maybe too excited to go to my trail i don't know. Today i'll be working with one of the most talented cake artists here in East Coast. Excited and scared at the same time. I hope i won't do anything embarrassing. Wish me luck!

Back to school

It's been a while since i've logged in to blog. Been very busy with school. Yes I am back to school. This time it's what i've always wanted to take....Pastry and Baking! Yes! I am now a Pastry student at The Institute of Culinary Education in NY. Can't complain so far. I'm on my third module now...all about cakes and fillings. Sugar high all the time! lol. Going back to school is pretty exciting. Travelling to NY is not! haha. Especially during this kind of weather. Snow every week what can I say? Sick and tired of snow. Let's all move to Cali!

TGIF

Today i just soooo humid. I went to our backyard with the kids and we didn't even last for an hour. The sun is just killing us. What a summer i must say. I've been thinking to taking them to a waterpark in our area but the weather forecast would always give me a thunderstorm for the rest of the week. The weather is not cooperating at all. Sigh. I feel bad for the kids. My eldest son especially. There's just nothing to do except for playing DS, PS3 and Rock Band. Good thing we went to Florida for a short vacation. Next stop is Cancun, Mexico for my youngest son's 2nd Bday. Yipee! Been searching for a good package to accomodate the four of us. The husband is planning to book by October. We'll see. I still need to get passports for me and my youngest. Too much thing to do I guess.

Sang's Birthday Dinner

Last Saturday, my girlfriends and I decided to celebrate one of our friend's 28th birthday at The Manor. We had dinner buffet (all girls). It was really fun. We haven't done this in such a long time since everyone is always busy with work (I'm not :) ) and family. It was their Lobster Fest and we all enjoyed it! Here are some of the photos.
